Initiative

A city-wide movement bringing together citizens, industry leaders, sustainability institutions and women-led upcycling communities to build a scalable textile circularity ecosystem
for Mumbai.

This initiative focuses on responsible textile recovery, recycling, reuse and circular material systems that reduce landfill waste while creating environmental and social impact.

What Happens

TO THE COLLECTED TEXTILES?

Collected textiles are sorted and categorized based on their condition and reuse potential. Wearable items are directed for reuse, non-wearable materials are sent for responsible recycling through the ReFiber ecosystem, and selected textiles are upcycled into new products by Tisser's women-led initiatives, ensuring maximum recovery and minimal landfill waste.
